About Our Owners
Our company  vice-president, Mike Delaney, and board member, Bob Delaney have successfully completed comprehensive written examinations for the Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors for both residential and commercial building and remodeling. This included critical subject areas, such as business management, construction law, proper and safe use of tools and equipment, standards of practice in building and construction and many other special skill areas.

As remodeling professionals, our vice-president and board memeber must meet annual re-licensing requirements for the Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors with continuing education in such areas as: energy efficient construction, finance banking, land development, site planning and zoning, scheduling, business management, and customer service.

Our company president, secretary and treasurer is Carmel G. Delaney. Carmel has over 40 years' experience in business and finance management.  Carmel volunteered with Hospice for 2 years and Youth Service Bureau (CASA) for 10 years.  She is a former member of Slidell Women's Civic Club.

Michael V. Delaney, vice president, is a certified mold remediator, state licensed for residential and commercial construction with experience in air quality control, energy efficient construction, site project management, land development, zoning, water intrusion, scheduling, customer service, contracts and warranties. Michael is recognized by the American Plywood Association as a Code Plus Professional and certified by the Pella Corporation as a Certified Pella Contractor. He and his wife, Michelle, have three sons, Dylan, 8, and twins, Logan and Zander, 6.

Robert J. Delaney, Jr., board member, has over 50 years experience in the construction business. He founded A-1 Remodeling & Building, Inc. in 1982 and has guided its development into the Northshore's premier remodeling and construction firm. Bob was named "Builder of the Year for 2003-2004" by the St. Tammany Home Builders Association. He is a graduate of Leadership 2003, and has attended many other local and state meetings and seminars. He also participated in "2025" and the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation, both groups focusing on the future of the parish. Bob is past President of the St. Tammany Home Builder's Association.

	General/Production Manager, Greg Spencer, comes from a building and construction background that spans the world from New Zealand, to England and finally, the USA. Greg has been with A1 Remodeling & Building for 16 years.
